"Duck"orating Contest

Join the fun and decorate a large rubber duck to reflect the theme of your choosing. All local businesses and organizations are invited to participate in the contest which will coincide with our Rubber Duck Dash. Price to enter is just $25. We will provide you with a large undecorated duck or you are welcome to use a previously decorated duck if you choose. Each entrant will have 2 chances to win an amazing trophy and prize!

"Most Wanted Duck"
Every $1 collected equals 1 Vote! Collect enough votes to win the coveted "Most Wanted Duck" award for 2025. Votes can be collected prior to the race at your place of business AND will also be collected at the event from 11am-3pm.

"Best Decorated Duck"
Get creative and make your duck stand out! Wow our official Kiwanis Judges enough to get their vote with your eye-catching decorations.
Contact a member or email us at [email protected] to let us know you are interested in decorating a duck - limited quantities are available.
How it Works:
  1. Your large rubber duck and voting bucket are provided by us. Or, you may choose to use a previously decorated duck from prior year.
  2. Use creativity to tastefully decorate your duck prior to the event. Paint it, dress it up, Sharpie it, etc. Be sure to include representation of your business or organization as part of the decoration.
  3. Once decorated, display at your business, organization, etc. and collect "votes". Every $1 collected equals 1 vote! Votes can be collected through the event date. Collect enough votes to win the "Most Wanted Duck" award. You are welcome to "help" your duck win by stuffing the voting bucket full of cash.
  4. Decorated ducks and voting buckets (with collected votes) are then to be delivered to Kara Lambourn at ChoiceOne Bank (83 W. Nepessing St, Downtown Lapeer) no later than 4pm the Wednesday prior to event date. If you are unable to meet that deadline, please contact us at [email protected] so that other arrangements can be made.
  5. All decorated ducks will then be on display at our annual Rubber Duck Dash event held at Cramton Park in Lapeer. Ducks will continue to collect votes at the event. We encourage you to come and support us and participate in our event.
  6. After voting has closed, votes will be counted and the "Most Wanted Duck" award will be determined by the duck that has raised the most money in votes.
  7. The winner of the "Best Decorated Duck" award will be decided the day of event by our official Kiwanis panel of judges who will decide which duck deserves this coveted award.
  8. After the event, all ducks will need to be picked up between 3 and 4pm unless other arrangements have been made.
